I've been writing stories since I could hold a pencil. You can ask anyone who knew me in the first grade. I've loved the Northwest for even longer. These two proclivities and an incurable wanderlust have propelled me into storytelling, messaging and media relations work for northwest communities, city and county governments, small businesses, solopreneurs, events and to name a few: Cathedral Park Jazz Festival, Spirit of Halloweentown, Skibowl, Killer Burger, Burgerville, DoveLewis, and more.
Before acquiring a Master’s in Strategic Communications from the University of Oregon, I earned a Bachelor’s in Media Studies, Public Relations and Writing from Marylhurst University, where I was a recipient of the Binford Writing Scholarship. I'm a graduate of the Ford Foundation’s Community Building Institute.
Other affiliations that might be of interest: I've served on the board of Oregon Destination Marketing Organizations, Travel Oregon’s Sustainable Tourism Advisory Committee, and worked as a representative in Greater Portland’s Regional Cooperative Marketing Program. I've volunteered with the Association of Oregon Recyclers, Portland Public Schools, and as board chair for the Arbor Lodge Neighborhood Association in Portland. I am a M.O.B. (Mom Owned Business) Alliance Member.
The project of parenting has eclipsed my work for a very long time. #boyhood #mthood #ilovehashtags #seriously
